Outstanding Conservationist of the Year
The Conservationist of the Year Award is presented to a professional individual who works in cooperation with the Butler County Conservation District to design Erosion and Sediment Control Plans that follow sound conservation practices at earthmoving sites.
Erosion and Sediment Control Plans need to include a site-specific plan identifying best management practices to minimize accelerated erosion and sedimentation.
Brian Gilliland from Trant Corporation was awarded this year's Outstanding Conservationist. Brian is a plan preparer who takes extra pride in developing Erosion and Sediment Control Plans. He is self-motivated whose work is known throughout western Pennsylvania.
Both earthmovers and developers recognize his plans as being practical. His common sense approach of developing plans can be seen on sites at such locations as Treesdale, Adams Ridge, and Timberlee Farms.
Brian's ability to recognize and provide practical designs for complex projects with sensitive environmental issues is amazing.
